The Lord said to Moses, “Chisel out two stone tablets like the first ones, and I will write on them the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.
Moses was instructed to meet on the mountain with God.
No human or animal was to be present on or in front of the mountain.
Moses met God on the mountain with the two tablets. The Lord came down in a cloud.
The Lord proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.”

Moses came down Mount Sinai with the two tablets and his face was radiant.
Aaron and the people were afraid to go near Moses.

The people began to mourn and God said to take off their ornaments as He decided what to do.
**The Tent of Meeting
The Lord asked Moses to pitch a tent outside the camp.
The people arose and stood outside their own tent watching Moses as he entered the Tent.
They all stood and worshiped outside their tent, as Moses went into the Tent with God.

I will put you in the cleft of the rock and you may see my back but not my face.
